MCKENZIE, Tennessee—On Saturday, October 17, 2015, State Representative Andy Holt will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4939 in McKenzie.
“Myself and all of our veteran members are extremely grateful to have Rep. Holt’s assistance with this fundraiser,” said Post Commander William Milam Junior. “With his help in organizing this event, we hope to be able to raise the funds we need to serve our community.”
Holt and his crew will be preparing an old fashioned pig roast. In addition to the BBQ, other activities will be taking place, including an appearance from the Rolling Thunder.
“Truth be told, I’m just honored to have the opportunity to serve this community of veterans in any way possible,” said Holt. “We’ll be pulling out the smoker and roasting an entire hog. I’m really praying for a good turnout. This is the Volunteer State, so I’m asking the community to please consider coming together to enjoy some fellowship, good food and fun while supporting our veterans.”
The event runs from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM on October 17 at the McKenzie VFW post (9750 Cherrywood Ave, McKenzie, TN 38201). Plates are $7, and all proceeds go directly to benefit the McKenzie VFW.
